The Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office confirmed the controversial news Tuesday, saying that the Bronx-bred rapper, whose real name is Julius Dubose, has been arrested in charge of one count of unlawful possession of a handgun and one count of possession of marijuana.
A-Boogie Wit Da Hoodie’s charges came after police had a search warrant at a home in Dearest, New Jersey, as part of an investigation about a recent shootout. It’s reported that the non-fatal incident started outside RAIN nightclub in Teaneck midnight Friday when A Boogie was holding his 25th birthday party.
Police claim the rapper was involved in a fender bender involving his SUV. As he was exchanging insurance information with the other driver, a brawl outside of the nightclub.

According to reports, police discovered and seized a Ruger .380-caliber handgun, a Glock .40-caliber handgun, an H&K 9mm handgun, and a Smith and Wesson 9mm handgun, as well as “hollow point bullets, various high capacity magazines, marijuana, hashish oil edibles and drug paraphernalia commonly associated with the distribution of [drugs],” while searching A Boogie’s residence, so he is in jail.
Surprisingly, 27-year-old Samblou Camara, A Boogie’s manager as well as rapper’s security guard, 33-year-old Quashaun Hagler, were arrested too, but why? Actually, they are not as innocent as we thought.
Police found marijuana as well as hashish oil edibles in Camara’s Bergenfield home; he was charged with possession of marijuana. Hagler, who was reportedly at A Boogie’s residence throughout the raid, was in jail due to three counts of unlawful possession of a handgun and one count of possession of a large-capacity magazine.
The New York Police Department and the Demarest Police Department also assisted the investigations.
A Boogie, his Manager and security guard have since been released on their own recognizance, pending their appearances in court.

A Boogie whose real name is Julius Dubose was born December 6, 1995, in the Highbridge, the Bronx in New York City. The well-known rapper, known professionally as A Boogie wit da Hoodie (or simply A Boogie), is also a singer, and songwriter.

He is famous for his singles “Numbers” which peaked at number 23 on the Billboard Hot 100, “Look Back at It” which peaked at number 27, and “Drowning” which peaked at number 38. His debut studio album, The Bigger Artist (2017), reached number four on the Billboard 200 chart. A Boogie is the father of a daughter and son that shared with his girlfriend Ella Rodriguez. Their daughter, Melody Valentine Dubose, was born on Valentine’s Day 2017, and their son, Artist Jr., on June 27, 2020.
