Alaskan Bush People patriarch Billy Brown’s cause of death was partly released after his family confirmed that he suddenly passed away Sunday (February 7) at the age of 68. RIP.

The heartbreaking news first was published by the reality TV star’s son Bear Brown on Monday afternoon on Instagram, writing, ” “We are heartbroken to announce that our beloved patriarch Billy Brown passed away last night.”

A Discovery‘s spokesperson also reacted to the sad passing, said “everyone at the network is devastated and said Billy’s been “part of the Discovery family for years – a trailblazer, a lovely man and most definitely one of a kind. Our heart is with his family and those that knew him and loved him as they deal with this devastating loss.”

Billy Brown, an avid hunter and a brilliant commercial fisherman in the North Pacific, grew up in Texas, and when he was 16, he lost his whole family including his mother, father, and sister in a tragic plane crash.

Billy Brown reportedly took his last breath and suddenly died last night after suffering from a sudden health problem.

“We are heartbroken to announce that our beloved patriarch Billy Brown passed away last night after suffering from a seizure,” Bear Brown stated in the post to his 171,000 followers.

33-year-old Bear continued on his private Instagram account along with a photo with his dad Billy as well as his mother Ami Brown, “He was our best friend – a wonderful and loving dad, granddad and husband and he will be dearly missed. He lived his life on his terms, off the grid and off the land and taught us to live like that as well.”

Billy Brown’s wife Ami Brown was diagnosed with advanced lung cancer after months of unexplained pain in 2017. After their tragedy, the family moved to Washington after purchasing a house in the North Cascade Mountains, so that Ami could continue to receive treatment.

Following receiving painful radiation and chemotherapy for a while, Ami was reported she was cancer-free in 3 years ago.

“I was expecting great news,” she previously explained. “I could just feel it.” Billy added at the time”The doctors were as shocked as we were.”

Billy and Ami have 7 children together including, Matt, Bam Bam, Bear, Gabe, Noah, Snowbird and Rainy.
