Anthony Johnson was born in Compton, California, on May 5, 1965. His father was a stuntman and also a founder of the Black Stuntmen’s Association.

Johnson began his acting career in his early twenties. He landed a starring role as E.Z.E. in House Party in 1990. Shortly after that, Anthony started doing stand-up in bars in Los Angeles.

The ‘I Got the Hook-Up’ star appeared in Lethal Weapon 3 as a drug dealer and in Menace II Society. He gained more fame when he appeared in the 1995 comedy Friday as Ezal, a crackhead and thief.

Johnson has also starred in The Players Club, Panther, I Got The Hook Up, B*A*P*S, Def Jam’s How to Be a Player, and Repos. He also appeared in several rap videos.

The comedian played Sleazy-E, a parody of Eazy-E in Dr. Dre’s “Dre Day” ( 1992). He appeared again as Sleazy-E in the video clip for Eazy-E’s “Real Muthaphuckkin G’s” (1993).

According to reports, Anthony Johnson’s cause of death is still unknown. His family also has not released any statement surrounding Johnson’s death cause at this time.

A.J. Johnson, who was most known for his notable role as Ezal in Friday, studied at Centennial High School (Compton). The news about his death has flooded social media platforms, including youtube.

Johnson’s nephew has reported that Anthony was found lifeless in a store earlier this month in LA and rushed to a hospital. Unfortunately, he was pronounced dead in hospital.
