Former NFL Player Antonio Dennard Shot and Killed at 32

Ex-NFL Player Antonio Dennard was shot and killed early Sunday morning October 166, 2022, in the parking lot of Legends Bar and Restaurant in Muhlenberg Township, just outside of Reading, Pennsylvania.

According to the local newspaper The Reading Eagle, he was taken by a private vehicle to Reading Hospital, where he was pronounced dead in the operating room.

Officials have ruled his tragic passing a homicide and police are currently investigating. An autopsy is slated for Tuesday, according to reliable sources.

The bar is located in Muhlenberg Township, just outside of Reading, and authorities confirmed that the tragic shooting happened in the parking lot of the neighboring Rodeway Inn.

The former cornerback played college football at Langston University in Oklahoma before moving on to the National Football League.

Over the course of his professional career, Antonio was signed to the practice squads of three NFL teams — the Green Bay Packers, the New York Giants, and the Jacksonville Jaguars — as a cornerback.

The late player also played for the Arizona Rattlers of the Indoor Football League in 2015.

Antonio Dennard Shot and Killed Outside Bar

Former NFL cornerback Antonio Dennard was shot and killed over the weekend. The Berks County Coroner’s Office reported that the player was pronounced dead at 3:15 AM on October 16, after being transported to Reading Hospital for a gunshot wound.

The Berks County district attorney and the Muhlenberg Township police department are investigating and have ruled his death a homicide.

Dennard spent time with the Jaguars Giants and Packers during his NFL career. The Giants waived Dennard in May of 2013. He played at Langston University in Oklahoma before reaching the National Football League.

After the devastating news of Antonio Dennard’s death was revealed, his fans and friends expressed their deepest sadness. Many fans also took to Twitter to send their condolences and tributes.

TV news anchor for WFMZ Jaciel Cordoba wrote: “Police want to hear from people who know about the murder of Antonio Dennard. The ex-NFL player was shot in a domestic dispute outside Legends Bar in Reading Sunday morning.”

“That’s crazy Antonio Dennard was killed, when I was following football like crazy, I definitely remember him vividly. That’s crazy rip,” someone wrote.

Another user tweeted: “Former Giants cornerback Antonio Dennard shot and killed at 32. RIP. Too many young people dying. And the ones that I’ve been posting are celebrities. What about the ones that don’t make the news?”

“I’ll remember everything you taught me, what a great mentor, friend, & coach. You inspired so many around you ‘LU BOYS 4 LIFE’ Antonio Dennard,” one of his fans wrote on Twitter.
