Some stations threatened to pull the show off the air over the inclusion of dancer Arthur Duncan in the cast, but Betty famously told them to “live with it.”

Betty White’s Personal Life, Marrriage, Net Worth

On June 14, 1963, the talented star married television host and personality Allen Ludden, and her legal name was changed to Betty White Ludden. They met on his game show Password as a celebrity guest in 1961.

Allen proposed to White at least twice before she accepted. They appeared together in an episode of The Odd Couple featuring Felix’s and Oscar’s appearance on Password.

He appeared as a guest panelist on Match Game, withBetty sitting in the audience, and they also appeared together on the Match Game panel in 1974, 1975, and 1980.

Allen Ludden passed away from stomach cancer on June 9, 1981, in LA. While they had no children together, White was a stepmother to three of his children from his first marriage to Margaret McGloin Ludden. She also died of cancer in 1961.
