What’s Ex Anglia TV Presenter Bob Wellings’ Cause of Death

Former Anglia TV presenter Bob Wellings’ cause of death has been followed by many questions since he passed away at his home in Suffolk on March 1, 2022, at the age of 87. May he rest in peace.

Mr. Wellings, 87, entered Anglia Television in 1959 and worked on the nightly About Anglia program as a reporter and presenter. In 1969 he joined the BBC and later became a household name working on the Nationwide program alongside Frank Bough and Sue Lawley.

Mr. Wellings, who was born in 1934, retired to Halesworth in Suffolk. Friends announced he had a fall just before Christmas and breathed his last breath in his sleep earlier this week.

He leaves behind his wife and three children.

A user wrote, “Bob Wellings has died. He was a dryly funny, friendly presenter of Nationwide when I was a kid. I became aware of the concept of “a year” because of him and Frank Bough discussing 1972 Nationwide. So thanks for that Bob and RIP.”

Another said, “RIP Longtime Ealing resident BBC’s Bob Wellings who has passed away in his sleep aged 87Used to see him in Pitshanger Lane in the 1980s/ early 90s and he had a hand in the Ealing Castlebar elephant story repeated by Steve Pound MP in his maiden speech.”
