It is reported that Jenny Lynn-Powell died while sleeping. Her husband, Ricky, made every effort to save her life but was unsuccessful.
Competitive by nature, Jenny Lynn was born in Petaluma, California, grew up in the spotlight singing and dancing. As she grew, she started competing nationally in cheerleading, something that can often lead to a career in fitness.
Lynn became an aerobics instructor soon after high school and found herself competing in aerobics.

“A seizure while sleeping” is reported as bodybuilder Jenny Lynn-Powell’s cause of death at 49. Jenny Lynn passed away after being a “12-time IFBB pro-figure champion.”

It was at the time when Jenny Lynn-Powell started weight training that she discovered her natural tendency to put on muscle with relative ease. She immediately enrolled in her first fitness competition, and it took only one year for her to earn her pro card. This came about at the 2001 NPC USA Fitness Championships.
Jenny made the jump to Figure in 2003 when the IFBB instituted pro-figure competitions, starting competitions in fitness professionally for two years. Although she loved fitness, the figure would end up being her calling; so much so that she won the Figure International at the Arnold Classic in the first three years.
She won the Figure Olympia twice in 2006 and 2007. With those huge wins and a total of 11 other professional figure wins in her career, Jenny Lynn was one of the most successful figure competitors in the history of the sport.
Finally, she retired from competing after the 2009 Olympia.
