Former CJAD Broadcaster Dave Fisher Passed Away at 71
It’s with the deepest sadness and a heavy heart we inform you that the long-time CJAD Radio Host Dave Fisher passed away on Wednesday, July 20, 2022, at the age of 71. The reason behind his death was announced.
He was the host of the CJAD trivia show on Sunday mornings brought him the most fame. He worked as a mainstay in the Montreal radio scene for almost 32 years and after that, he was inducted into the CJAD Hall of Fame. In 2016, he decided to retire.
Dave started his career in radio which was in Lindsay, Ontario. Then he was transferred to Peterborough and Ottawa, and he also spent some time in Winnipeg in between. Despite living in different places, Montréal was where he discovered a place to call his own.
His shows are famous and have almost always been among the top in the market to spend your time on and watch them. He was truly a legend.
In March 1984, he began hosting weekend shows on CJAD 800, since then, he has remained with the station and has maintained the same time slot throughout his tenure there. His shows have been rated. In the order they are:
- Dave’s World
- The Home Improvement Show
- The CJAD 800 Trivia Show
Dave came into the office till he could answer calls from Montreal citizens and assist them to the best of his ability despite the fact that CJAD 800 had been temporarily taken off the air at that time.
He was a talented guy who always gave the impression that hosting his show and interacting with his audience was very easy for him to do. He was a professional in his career. Also, he always was a delight to listen to and pleasant to talk to at all times.

Based on what his family reported, Dave Fisher passed away on Wednesday morning after a sudden heart attack. There is no other specific information about his death. Dave Fisher’s obituary is not available until now.

Once he mentioned his favorite moment in his career. It was the ice storm of 1998 as being the most memorable radio moment during his hosting career in spite of having worked through a large number of significant events and huge stories.
