Details of ‘As the World Turns’ Star Elizabeth Hubbard’s Death

Elizabeth Hubbard’s cause of death was revealed after her death at the age of 89. Hubbard died of cancer at her home in Roxbury, Connecticut, on April 8, 2023.
Her son, Jeremy Bennett, told the devastating news in a Facebook post on Monday. “I’m sorry to say with a broken heart mi mum passed over the weekend.
“Thank you for being an unmovable rock that guided me through life. I will try to honour your memory for as long as I live,” he wrote.

Elizabeth Hubbard was born on December 22, 1933, in New York City, New York, United States. She was recognized for her role as Althea Davis on the NBC daytime soap opera, The Doctors.
She received the Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series in 1974. She starred as businesswoman Lucinda Walsh on the CBS soap opera, As the World Turns (1984-2010) for which the actress received eight Daytime Emmy Award nominations.
Hubbard starred in films such as The Bell Jar (1979), I Never Sang for My Father (1970), and Ordinary People (1980). She received another Emmy Award for playing Edith Wilson in the TV film First Ladies Diaries: Edith Wilson (1976).
The actress began her career in 1962, appearing as Anne Fletcher on the soap opera Guiding Light. The following year, Elizabeth joined the cast of The Edge of Night as Carol Kramer.
Hubbard starred in the play The Physicists, for which she earned the 1965 Clarence Derwent Award for Most Promising Female. She inaugurated the role of Dr. Althea Davis on NBC’s year-old soap opera The Doctors in 1964.
She played the role until October 1969, when she quit to pursue a career in Hollywood. The star returned to the role as of October 1, 1970, and continued the role until 1977.
Elizabeth returned again in 1981 and remained with the show until its cancellation in 1982. She was awarded the 1st Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series in 1974.

Cancer was reported as Elizabeth Hubbard’s cause of death at the age of 89. her son, Jeremy Bennett, confirmed the heartbreaking news in a Facebook post.
Hubbard made her big screen debut in the Academy Award-nominated drama movie I Never Sang for My Father opposite Gene Hackman and Melvyn Douglas.
In 1976, she won an additional Daytime Emmy Award for her portrayal of Edith Wilson in the TV film First Ladies Diaries: Edith Wilson. She appeared in films The Bell Jar (1979), Center Stage (2000), Ordinary People (1980), Cold River (1982), and The Treatment (2006).

Actress Martha Byrne, who played Elizabeth’s on-screen daughter, Lily, on “As The World Turns,” shared a heartfelt tribute to the star on her Instagram page Monday.
“First and foremost I want everyone to know I made sure she was aware of how much everyone loved her. I would share your comments from social media, videos, and your fond memories of her as Lucinda, Althea, every time I saw her,” Byrne wrote.
“She loved the audience and fought like HELL to bring truth and honesty to her performances. On a personal level there aren’t words to describe how much she meant to me. Only feelings, which override words in so many cases when it comes to love.”
While speaking with Soap Opera Digest in 2015, Elizabeth gushed about her fans, telling the outlet, “I love them and I mean that. They’e in my heart … let the fans know that I love them and honor them and I still look at the poems I sent them.”
“I’ve dated many men in my life, but my secret love affair is with the fans.”
The legendary actress married NYC furrier David Bennett in 1968 and divorced in 1973. The pair had one child together, Jeremy, 51.
Although fans are still trying to find John Regan’s cause of death, sources revealed that the acclaimed rock bassist breathed his last on April 7, 2023. May he rest in peace.
