Actor Frank Bonner was famous for his role on “WKRP” in the late 1970s and early 80s as a sales manager Herb Tarlek, a radio station sales manager who consistently failed to reel in the big accounts.

His character in the television sitcom is always remembered for wearing white shoes and a matching belt at the show, as well as a loud plaid suit. He then became director of a few episodes of “WKRP,” and later came back to his role in the early ’90s spinoff, “The New WKRP in Cincinnati.”

According to his family’s statement, Frank Bonner’s cause of death relates to his serious illness; beloved Bonner lost his life due to Lewy body dementia.

In October 1979 the star was injured after falling approximately 20 feet in a parachute accident when his ascendency chute collapsed in an unexpected serve wind while being towed by a four-wheel-drive vehicle on a bed in a dry lake near LA. Following the serious accident, he was transported to the hospital and he would make a full recovery.

Frank Bonner additionally appeared in Mr. Spalding and Mr. Ed Harrington in Saved by the Bell: The New Class, and he directed episodes too. He starred as Father Robert Hargis in the ABC sitcom Just the Ten of Us for 22 episodes, which ended up being about half of the series run (it ran for 48).
