With the most profound sorrow, we must inform you that Frank Williams passed away. He was an English actor best known for playing the Reverend Timothy Farthing in the popular BBC comedy Dad’s Army. He left this world on June 26, 2022.
He was born on July 2, 1931, in Hampstead, London, England. Williams began his career as an actor in repertory theatre, most notably at the Watford Palace Theatre, which was run by Jimmy Perry, who is the creator of Dad’s Army.
He and Ian Lavender were the last surviving major cast members of Dad’s Army after the death of Pamela Cundell in 2015. He would reprise the role of the Reverend Timothy Farthing in the 2016 film adaptation of the series.

In 1967 and 1971, he appeared as one of the vicars choral in an episode of All Gas and Gaiters. He had a cameo role in Monty Python’s Flying Circus (1972) at the height of his Dad’s Army fame. In 1978, he appeared as a record producer in the Rutles film All You Need Is Cash.
