‘Dream Weaver’ singer Gary Wright’s cause of death was revealed by his son, Justin Wright, on September 4, 2023. May he rest in peace.
On September 4, 2023, it was announced that Gary Wright died after a secret battle with Parkinson’s and Lewy body dementia.
Gary Malcolm Wright was born on April 26, 1943, in Cresskill, New Jersey, U.S. He pursued a music career, Gary used to act as a child, appearing in the TV series Captain Video and His Video Rangers.

Wright studied most of his life to become a doctor until the 1960s when he joined a band called Art. However, in 1970, he went solo after signing with A&M Records.
The next year, in 1971, he released his first debut album, Extraction. Wright rose to popularity after he released his hit singles Love is Alive and Dream Weaver in 1976.

Gary Wright’s Cause of Death Announced
Lewy body dementia and Parkinson’s disease were reported as Gary Wright’s cause of death at the age of 80. He died at his home in Palos Verdes Estates on September 4, 2023.
Gary Wright’s son, Justin Wright, said that his father died in his Palos Verdes Estates home in South Bay, California.
Justin reported that his father was diagnosed with Parkinson’s about five or six years ago and with dementia not too long after.
In the last year before he passed, Gary’s son revealed his Parkinson’s progressed rapidly, causing him to lose the ability to speak and move around.

The Dream Weaver singer’s family and loved ones stood by Gary’s side until his passing.
Word of his death spread on social media with many fans and fellow musicians sharing their condolences and tributes, including singer-songwriter Stephen Bishop.
“The attached photos hold precious memories from the very first and last time we shared the stage together, alongside our mutual musical pal John Ford Coley,” Stephen Bishop wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter.
“Gary’s vibrant personality and exceptional talent made every moment together truly enjoyable. His legacy will live on for many years to come …”
At his time of passing, the singer was married to his wife, Rose. The pair married in 1985 and welcomed two sons, Dorian and Justin.
Their son Justin followed in his footsteps, pursuing a music career. As of September 2023, Justin is a member of the band Intagible.
Before his marriage to Rose, Gary tied the knot with Christina Wright, who co-wrote multiple songs with the artist.
