A letter sent to the crew of “The Talk” and the press by CBS confirmed the devastating news. Although her cause of death was not disclosed, the network revealed that Heather was “bravely battling an unforgiving disease.”

The letter was signed by David Stapf (president of CBS Studios), George Cheeks (president and CEO of CBS), Kelly Kahl (president of CBS Network Entertainment), Amy Reisenbach (EVP of current programs, CBS Network Entertainment), Thom Sherman (senior EVP of programming, CBS Network Entertainment), and Laurie Seidman (SVP of daytime programs, CBS Network Entertainment).

The network wrote: “On behalf of all of us at CBS, We want to extend our deep condolences to you for the painful loss of our beloved Heather. She was an inspiration to us all, living and thriving while bravely battling an unforgiving disease. She showed us what true courage looks like.”

They said that Gray has been the heart and soul of “The Talk” from day one. They added: “Her brilliance as an innovative producer was only outmatched by her huge smile and infectious laugh. She was an admired, beloved mama bear of your family and a leader that all looked up to.”

They added that Heather’s contributions to the success of the show are immeasurable. In the letter, Gray was remembered as a boss that proved you can lead with kindness, caring, and friendship.

“Heather was everyone’s friend, everyone’s champion, everyone’s favorite person on the set. We will miss her terribly. We recognize and share the pain and shock you are feeling at this moment, as well as the grief you will feel in the days ahead,” the letter continues.

“While the show is starting its hiatus as of August 1 (Monday), we do not want you to grieve and mourn alone. The set will be open, and HR will have staff and grief counseling available in person and by phone.”

“HR support will be on site as well. We understand how difficult this will be for all of you and want you to all know, that we are here for you,” the statement read.

Details of Heather Gray’s Cause of Death Remain Secret

According to “The Talk” show, Heather Gray’s cause of death was related to a disease. Her family has not released a statement surrounding her death cause yet.

The executive producer received multiple Daytime Emmy Awards, and in 2010 joined “The Talk” halfway through season one as senior supervising producer.

In August 2011, Gray was promoted to co-executive producer and then bumped up again to executive producer in August 2019.

Before her time at “The Talk,” she was the development producer at Endemol USA between 2010 and 2011. The renowned producer was the supervising producer for “The Tyra Banks Show” from 2006 through 2010. She achieved her first two Daytime Emmy Awards on that program.

After the sad news of Heather Gray’s passing was revealed, her friends and fans quickly flooded social media with thousands of tribute messages. Many fans also took to Twitter to pay tributes to her.

“I’m saddened to hear about the passing of Heather Gray. She was a thoughtful, kind, and exquisite woman to say the least. She loved her family, friends, and her dog Winston. My sincere condolences to her family and friends during this most difficult time,” one Twitter user wrote.

Brittani Warrick tweeted: “A devastating loss for all who had the pleasure of knowing Heather. The most thoughtful and kind human. She always went out of her way to encourage me on my journey. Especially over the pandemic. My family loved her a lot and will miss her deeply.”
