Fans Mourn Death of Actor Henry Silva’s Death at 94


It is with the deepest sadness we announce Henry Silva‘s death at the age of 94. The Ocean’s 11 and The Manchurian Candidate actor passed away in September 2022.

According to Deana Martin’s tweet, Silva was the last surviving star of the original Ocean 11 movies. Her Tweet reads, “Our hearts are broken at the loss of our dear friend Henry Silva, one of the nicest, kindest, and most talented men I’ve had the pleasure of calling my friend.

“He was the last surviving star of the original Ocean 11 Movie. We love you, Henry, you will be missed.” After the devastating news went viral, Silva’s fans did not take much time to pay the deepest condolence over his death and started to tweet on the Internet.

Henry Silva died at the age of 94.

His notable film appearances include Ocean’s 11 (1960), Johnny Cool (1963), The Manchurian Candidate (1962), Ghost Dog: The Way of the Samurai (1999), and Sharky’s Machine (1981).

Other TV appearances include featured roles on episodes of The Untouchables, The Outer Limits television series, Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea, Mission Impossible, Rod Serling’s Night Gallery, and Boris Karloff‘s suspense series Thriller.

In 1965, an Italian film producer made Henry an offer to star as a hero for a change and Henry moved his family overseas. His turning-point picture was a Spaghetti Western, The Hills Run Red, which made him a hot box-office commodity in Italy, Germany, Spain, and France.

Between 1966 and 1977 Silva starred in at least 25 movies. His best remembered of these are Il Boss (1973), Manhunt (1972), and Almost Human (1974).

The last surviving star of Ocean 11 Henry Silva’s death was announced in September 2022. His cause of death has not been released at this time.

Silva co-starred with Frank Sinatra in Contract on Cherry Street and Charles Bronson in Love and Bullets. Silva signed on as the cruel adversary Killer Kane in Buck Rogers in the 25th Century.

In the 1980s and 1990s, Silva appeared as the hunter Colonel Brock in Alligator, a former prison warden-turned-enforcer in Escape from the Bronx, a drug-addicted hitman in Burt Reynolds’ Sharky’s Machine, and a comedy gangster in Cannonball Run II.

He also starred as the wicked mob hitman Influence in Dick Tracy, the criminal CIA agent Kurt Zagon in Steven Seagal’s debut Above the Law, and the voice of the ruthless supervillain Bane in Batman: The Animated Series and The New Batman Adventures.

The talented actor played the crime boss Ray Vargo in American film director and screenwriter Jim Jarmusch‘s Ghost Dog: The Way of the Samurai.

The sad news of Henry Silva’s death has been received with shock and condolences. Many people also took to Twitter to pay touching tributes to him.

“Our hearts are broken at the loss of our dear friend Henry Silva, one of the nicest, kindest, and most talented men I’ve had the pleasure of calling my friend. He was the last surviving star of the original Oceans 11 Movie. We love you Henry, you will be missed,” Deana Martin tweeted.

One fan wrote: “Henry Silva was the man. Menacing, cool and brooding; he stole the scenes in many a Western and Crime film. RIP.”

Michael Doyle tweeted: “God bless Henry Silva (1928-2022). He celebrated his 94th birthday only yesterday, but passed away today. A terrific actor with a truly unforgettable presence. Below is an image from his appearance in @joe_dante’s BULLSHIT OR NOT? sketch from AMAZON WOMEN ON THE MOON.”
