During the Golden Age of Radio, Jane hosted her own children’s radio program in her home city of Atlanta, Georgia. She and her mother moved to Hollywood and appeared as an extra in many movies until landing her breakthrough role as the spoiled.

After Bright Eyes, Jane started to land lead roles for herself rather than supporting characters. She starred in notable films including “Ginger,” “Paddy O’Day,” “This is the Life,” “Little Miss Nobody,” “Rascals,” “Wild and Wooly,” “Checkers,” and more.

Jane “retired” from acting at the young age of 21 in 1947 to focus on her home life. However, she returned in 1956 for the film Giant in collaboration with George Stevens and James Dean.

The legendary star was married twice and had five children. She went on to act on and off in the decades and even gave voice acting on radio.
