Jeff Stice had studied piano at WKU. His love for the piano lighted at the age of six. While his mother was played piano, Jeff would lie under the piano and listen. After that, he would get on the stool, place his fingers on the keys, and start to pick out the melody of some of the songs he had heard his mother play.

Jeff started taking piano lessons at 8, and it was recognized early on that he had “an ear” for music. His parents took him to a Gospel concert, where he immediately fell in love with the pianists of the various groups he saw and heard there.

As Stice started to grow older, his love for quartet music started to grow as well. He started playing for his father’s quartet at 15 while also winning several high school talent shows along the way.

After the legend graduated from high school, he went on to major in Piano Performance at Western Kentucky University. Soon after, he was offered a job with The Blackwood Brothers, and he would play piano for them for four years.
