Footballer Jody Lukoki Shockingly Passed Away at 29
With heavy hearts and great sadness,we are here to announce to you that ”The Son of the Wind”, Jody Lukoki passed away on Monday, May 9, 2022 when he was in the final stages of rehabilitating from a cruciate ligament injury.
He was born on November 15, 1992, in Kindu, Zaire. When he was a child, his whole family immigrated to the Netherlands. Jody did Grow up in Amsterdam and also spent much of his career in the Dutch league.
There is no specific information or any document about his wife or children. About a few months ago he was convicted of assaulting his girlfriend and he got sentenced to 80 hours of community service and put on probation for three-year.
His career and investments earned him so much money. Lukoki’s net worth is reported as 4 to 5 million dollars.

Jody Lukoki’s cause of death is not yet known. The close sources to him just confirmed his passing and didn’t mention any specific information about the cause but we know that he was surrounded by family and friends when the incident happened.

Jody Lukoki Career as a Footballer
He began his senior career at Dutch giants Ajax and also had spells at PEC Zwolle, Bulgarian club Ludogorets, and Turkish outfit Yeni Malatyaspor, and was most recently on the books of FC Twente.
As well as Ajax and Twente, Lukoki was also on the books of club sides PEC Zwolle, Ludogorets, and Malatyaspor. He came through Ajax’s famous youth set-up and went on to play 39 times for the Dutch outfit, scoring six goals.
Lukoki received his first call-up to the DR Congo squad for the match against Iraq on March 19, 2015, and earned his first cap in the game.
During his three seasons with the four-time European champions, he was honored with the Eredivisie title every year.
When he had only ten years old, he joined the local club VVA/Spartaan. After that in the order he joined:
- SC Cambuur (loan)
- PEC Zwolle
- Yeni Malatyaspor
Between 2016 and 2019 when he played for Ludogorets, he won four successive Bulgarian league titles.
In these last two years, Lukoki signed a two-year contract with Turkish club Yeni Malatyaspor.
