Musician Keith Allison’s Cause of Death Remains Unknown


Former Revere and the Raiders star passed away on November 18, 2021, at the age of 79. Keith Allison’s cause of death has not been announced at this time.

Paul Revere and the Raiders released a statement and paid tribute to the beloved guitarist. “It is with deep sadness [we] announce the passing of Keith Allison,” the statement reads.

“We all here in the Raider family are terribly heartbroken. Keith will always be a Raider. Our love goes out to Keith’s wife Tina, son Ryeland, daughters Allison and Brenda, and all the grandchildren.

The band continued: “Keith was a friend to all, and everyone loved Keith. His presence will be strongly missed.”

Keith Allison was born on August 26, 1924, in Texas, United States. He had been associated with different groups throughout the years before joining Paul Revere and the Raiders in 1968.

He came to the band’s attention after being hired as an audience member for Dick Clark’s TV show Where the Action Is.

Besides producing hit songs with the group, the guitarist was known for his appearances on TV for the TV show musicals Where The Action Is.

What Happened to Guitarist Keith Allison?

The guitarist remained with the group until 1975, when they were using the shortened title of the Raiders.

After his departure, Keith went solo and released his first album. Allison pursued a career in acting and then returned to music.

He joined the Waddy Watchel Band and starred in Jerry Lee Lewis’ 2007 LP Last Man Standing.

“I’ve had a great time,” Keith told Classic Bands. “I’ve enjoyed the highs and lows. It’s like a roller coaster. But it’s always been that way, up and down and up and down and up and down.”

Dan Epstein wrote on Twitter: “So sorry to hear of Keith Allison’s passing. I had the immense pleasure of dining with him in 2015; we chatted for nearly two hours about his adventures with the Raiders, Monkees, Crickets, Johnny Rivers, and more. Farewell to a truly underrated hero of rock n’ roll!”

“So sad to hear about the passing of my good friend Keith Allison. Former member of Paul Revere and The Raiders he also toured with Dolenz, Jones, Boyce, and Hart in the 70’s,” Micky Dolenz tweeted.

“Gutted to hear about the passing of our friend and musician Keith Allison. He not only left a massive mark in pop culture as a member of “Paul Revere & the Raiders,” but he also left a permanent mark in our hearts forever. So many great times. Kieth was the life of the party.” Alison Martino wrote.
