Prosecutor in Clinton Whitewater Probe, Ken Starr’s Death
It’s with the most profound sadness we inform you of Ken Starr’s death on September 13, 2022, at the age of 76. He is known for leading the Whitewater investigation into members of the Clinton administration in the mid-1990s. May he rest in peace.
He was born on July 21, 1946. Starr was a popular and hard-working s student when he was studying at Sam Houston High School in San Antonio. His classmates voted him most likely to succeed. In 1970, Starr married Alice Mendell, who was raised Jewish but converted to Christianity.
During a particular part of his life, he was a law professor and dean at Pepperdine University in Malibu, California for almost six years. Also, in other universities like New York University School of Law, George Mason University School of Law in Virginia, and Chapman Law School in Orange, California, he had held positions.
Starr was nominated by former President Ronald Reagan for a seat on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Washington, D.C., circuit, and he served as U.S. solicitor general under then-President George H.W. Bush.
Starr ended his legal and scholarly career as president and chancellor of the private university in 2016 after serving in that role for six years.
He is known among people as leading Whitewater, the expansive investigation that began as a probe of real estate investments by then-President Clinton and first lady Hillary Clinton, but branched out to encompass numerous other areas including the notorious Monica Lewinsky sex scandal.
As it has been reported, she was a White House intern who only was 24 years old when the scandal involved the president’s adulterous affair with her.

Lewinsky and Starr’s careers completely changed after the probe, besides the political implications and damage to Clinton’s reputation. The two never met in person during the investigation. But 20 years after its conclusion, Lewinsky recently recounted, the two met in person, by accident, at a New York City restaurant.
