Autopsy Will Reveal Actor Lance Kerwin’s Cause of Death at 62

‘James at 16’ star Lance Kerwin’s cause of death has remained a secret to fans while An autopsy to determine the cause of death is being conducted. He passed away on January 24, 2023.

Kerwin’s daughter, Savanah Kerwin, announced the devastating news in a Facebook post on Wednesday. “I am so sorry to those we have not been able to reach out to personally to notify but Lance Kerwin passed away yesterday morning,” she wrote.

Savanah continued: “We appreciate all the kind words, memories, and prayers that have been shared. As the coming weeks progress, I will share more information about after life ceremonies.”

Savanah assured her father’s fans and friends on social media that “he loved each and every one of you.”

Lance Kerwin was born on November 6, 1960, and was raised in Lake Elsinore, California. His father was an acting coach, who brought home scripts for his Lance to read.

His mother was a performer and later, a talent agent. In the 1970s, Kerwin starred in a number of made-for-TV movies and series. He was, said former theater critic and Film Institute governor John Holmstrom, “probably America’s leading boy actor of the late Seventies … a handsome lad … [with] considerable sensitivity as an actor”.

Kerwin’s serious acting roles often portrayed anguished characters facing difficult challenges, such as in The Boy Who Drank Too Much, The Loneliest Runner, and Children of Divorce.

Lance Kerwin’s Cause of Death is Unknown

Actor Lance Kerwin’s cause of death has not been revealed by his family but his death was confirmed by his daughter. He is survived by his five children: Fox, Terah, Savanah Kailani, and Justus.

Kerwin shared a daughter, with Kristen Lansdale, and had four children with his wife Yvonne Kerwin. The actor gave up acting in the mid-1990s. Lance was not related to actor Brian Kerwin.

In a July 2010 article, it was stated that he was then working as a “pastor at Calvary Chapel in Kapaa, Hawaii and a U-Turn for Christ program leader”.

In the article, Lance and his wife Yvonne pled guilty to falsifying documents to receive state medical assistance in Hawaii. He was sentenced to five years probation and 300 hours of community service. Kerwin publicly apologized.

When the sad news of Lance Kerwin’s death was revealed, his friends and fans quickly flooded social media with tribute messages. Many fans also took to Twitter to pay touching tributes to him.

“I am beyond heartbroken to hear of the passing of one of my greatest friends and co-stars I have ever worked with, Lance Kerwin. He was the child actor that inspired me to be the best that I could be because he was the best I had ever seen. Rest in peace my friend,” Ike Eisenmann tweeted.
