Enanitos Verdes’ Member Marciano Cantero’s Cause of Death

We are deeply sorry to announce that the lead vocalist and bass player of the prolific Argentine rock band “Los Enanitos Verdes”, passed away on September 8, 2022, just two weeks after his 62nd birthday. Marciano Cantero’s cause of death was revealed.
He was known as the lead singer and bassist of Los Enanitos Verdes, an Argentine pop/rock band. Cantero was a respectful musician who participated in the band’s 17-city U.S. tour which was announced to celebrate their 40-year music career.
The band’s U.S. tour began its journey on July 6, and the final show was performed on Aug. 13, at Orlando’s House of Blues featuring Cantero on the mic, Felipe Staiti on the guitar, and Jota Morelli on the drums.

On their tour, they wrapped a series of shows in the U.S. including stops in Los Angeles, New York City, Houston, and Miami. This fall, The group was sent to perform in Peru and Mexico before returning stateside. To know more about the group name, Enanitos Verdes translates to “Little Green-Elves.
Los Enanitos Verdes consider one of the most successful Latin American rock outfits which was active in the music industry for almost four decades. Cantero was well-known among different generations. Like in 2019, J Balvin and Bad Bunny featured him in their song “Un Peso.”

- Collaborated on the song “Pasando galaxias”, de Hugo Bistolfi
- Participated on “Hipnotika” of A.B. Quintanilla III, DJ Kaneand Voltio
- Sang “Adivinaré” with Los Rancheros
- Co-wrote with Bad Bunny and J Balvin the song “UN PESO” for the album Oasis

The news was confirmed in a tribute post on the band’s official Instagram page. Also, Marciano Cantero’s cause of death was announced by his family. He passed away this afternoon in a hospital in his hometown of Mendoza
Cantero’s final days were riddled with health issues arising from a kidney infection. He recuperated in intensive care at the Cuyo Clinic in Mendonza, Argentina, following surgery on Sept. 5.

Cantero’s family requested privacy and did not provide any details after local media reported that Cantero’s doctors had removed one of his kidneys and a part of his spleen, as part of his treatment.
He once said; “”As a kid I wanted to be a footballer. My dad represented Argentino de Mendoza in AFA and I always went to the court. It could not be, but in a goal there is music, and in music every melody that is born is like the play that ends in goal.”
On social media, messages of condolences were sent to Marciano Cantero’s family and loved ones. His friends shared their sadness through their Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter pages. May he rest in peace.
