The Mexican painter and visual artist Martha Pacheco’s cause of death has been clarified soon after she passed away on Monday (November 1, 2021) in her hometown of Guadalajara at the age of 64.
Her hyper-realistic paintings and drawings brought forefront the humanity of people on the fringes of society. Some friends reported on social networks that the artist Martha Pacheco, a painter who brought death and madness to her works, lost her life today.
Martha Pacheco was born in Guadalajara in 1957 and studied painting in the Sunday workshop of the Guadalajara Municipal Art Museum; from 1976 to 1981, she was a student at the School of Plastic Arts of the University of Guadalajara.
She founded a visual research studio with other young artists such as Miguel Ángel López Medina, Javier Campos Cabello, Salvador and Jesús Rodríguez. She is additionally a part of an art group called Forensic Medical Service (Semefo); she is considered a very critical artist.
In 2011, in an interview with Gaceta de la Universidad de la Universidad de Guadalajara, he spoke about violence in his work. “My paintings and drawings only present reality, but they do not produce violence.”
