What is Boxer Marvelous Marvin Hagler’s Cause of Death?
Marvelous Marvin Hagler’s cause of death is not announced yet, but his death news is confirmed by his wife and Boxing Social Magazine.
Marvelous Marvin Hagler was the second famous fighter to train out of Brockton, Massachusetts, after Rocky Marciano, who died suddenly at his home in New Hampshire.
According to a post made by Thomas Hearns on Instagram about an hour before his passing news, Hager was rushed to the ICU due to “the after-effects of the vaccine.”
Marvelous Marvin was a southpaw middleweight world champion. He has 62 wins, three losses, and two draws as a professional between 1973 and 1987 during his professional career.
After losing the world middleweight title on a 12 round split decision to Sugar Ray Leonard.
Hagler compiled a record of 62-3-2 from 1973 to 1987. Most boxing recorders consider Hagler to be one of the greatest fighters forever.
He is best identified as one of the “four kings” of boxing’s last great era, as George Kimball named him alongside:
- Ray Leonard
- Thomas Hearns
- and Roberto Duran
Maybe Hagler will be best remembered and famed for his overhyped and bloody three-round fight with Thomas Hearns in April 1985.
The first round of their fight is considered the most action-packed to be seen in the middleweight analysis, even the best middleweight round ever.
Marvelous Marvin Hagler’s Death Cause Seems to be Vaccine
Thomas Hearns announced that Marvelous was in ICU fighting the after-effects of the vaccine. But it didn’t take a long time when his death news was revealed.
The legend was also the half-brother of middleweight Robbie Simms, who also beat Roberto Duran like his brother Marvin.
Simms had a record of 38 wins, 10 losses, and two draws between 1980 and 1996. Hagler paralleled Marciano in only one regard besides Brockton: both Hagler and Marciano retired at age 32 while on top, their faculties intact.
Our thoughts and prayers are with Hagler’s family. His family needs privacy; please respect them during this difficult time.

Marvelous Marvin Hagler Professional Career
The pro boxer still scores high in boxing circles among well-known athletes as one of the most consistent boxers at 160 pounds and his marvelous chin, which was never scratched.
He had many good years left before his retirement after losing the WBC Version, but Marvelous just walked away from the boxing and the United States as well.
The professional boxer had a record of 13-1-1 in world title bouts at 160 pounds. Marvin held the middleweight title for six years and four months, coming in the era after Carlos Monzon.
BoxRec rates him the number six middleweight, behind:
- Sugar Ray Robinson
- Harry Greb
- Carlos Monzon
- Dick Tiger
- and Mickey Walker
Hagler disappeared from a boxing point of view, forgotten to obscurity by his own choosing. Marvelous still had strong boxing promise.
One can only assume Hagler lost his ‘Eye of The Tiger’ and his taste for the tournament after losing to Leonard and gave up the sport.
Hagler starred in action films in Italy and provided commentary for boxing on British television in retirement. He married his Italian wife in 2000 after his divorce with five children.
Recently, the actor Cliff Simon’s cause of death was reported as a Kiteboarding accident on Thursday, March 9.
The actor had reached a national level in South Africa in swimming and gymnastics, but to go more in either one, he needed to give all of his time to just one, and he chose swimming.
