The statement continued, “Marvin joined us at the start of the 2018/19 season and had a big influence in his seven appearances. Our thoughts are with his friends, family, and loved ones today.”

Also, another of his ex clubs, Hartlepool United, wrote, “We are shocked and saddened to have learned this morning of the passing of Marvin Morgan at the age of just 38 years old. Our thoughts are with Family and friends of Marvin. Rest easy, Marvin.”

Non-league striker and fashion designer played for multiple clubs over the years, with his two best spells coming at Aldershot Town, where he scored 25 goals in 93 games, and at Shrewsbury Town, where he scored 15 in 82 appearances.

Marvin Morgan, born in Manchester, kicked off his career at Wealdstone back in 2008 and then came to play for clubs such as Plymouth Argyle before most recently dropping down to non-league, where he starred for the likes of Bath City, Beaconsfield, and Potters Bar.

Brentford striker Ivan Toney posted a photo on Instagram of Morgan outside his Fresh Ego Kid shop.

Aston Villa and former Manchester United star Ashley Young continued, “Sorry to hear the sad, sad news this morning about Marv. I’m lost for words, to think we were just joking the other week. RIP BRO.”

Someone wrote, “I’m f**king gutted Marvin Morgan has passed. He was such a nice, genuine bloke & loved football. He started his brand @FRESHEGOKID from scratch after he retired. Fought against racism & supported mental health sufferers. The world just lost a good guy. #RIP.”

Beaconsfield Town FC announced, “The club is shocked and saddened to hear of the passing of former player Marvin Morgan. Marvin was highly respected amongst his peers and throughout the football leagues, and our thoughts go out to Marvin’s family, friends, and all who knew him at this extremely difficult time.”

A user tweeted, “Awful to hear the news about Marvin Morgan, thoughts and condolences to his friends and family. I was at Woking’s 1st PSF at Basingstoke in the summer of 2007, and he scored a goal that marked him out as someone with huge talent. He certainly lit up L2 with the Shots as well. RIP.”
