Sadly, Great Actor Mitko Apostolovski Passed Away


Today we were informed that the great personality and renowned Macedonian theater, film and television actor Mitko Apostolovski sadly passed away on August 5, 2022, at the age of 67.

May he rest in heaven. Our team sends its thoughts and prayers to his loved ones, family, friends, and fans.

The news of his passing was confirmed by his colleague Petar Gorko on the social network Facebook. “Rest in peace, colleague, friend, wonderful man. I feel an immense loss. May your memory be eternal,” read Gorko’s statement.

Mitko was an actor, famous for To the Hilt (2014), Od denes za utre (2010), and The Witness (2018).

He was born in Bitola on March 7, 1955, graduating from the Department of Dramatic Actors at the Higher School of Music in Skopje. In his acting career, Apostolovski served in the National Theater in Bitola as well as in the National Theater in Kumanovo.

He also appeared in multiple roles for which he will be memorized. Between them is the role of Ariton in the film “Golemata Voda” (2004) by Ivo Trajkov, then Dimitria in the film “Treto Poluvreme” (2012) by director Darko Mitrevski and Risto in “Do Balchak” by Stole Popov from 2014.

Mitko Apostolovski Passed Away Due to An Illness

Although there is no official report about how Mitko Apostolovski passed away, unconfirmed sources claimed the actor took his last breath in a hospital and lost his life due to an illness he was recently suffering from.

On the same day, American pianist and composer of many famous films, Mike Lang, unfortunately, passed away on August 5, 2022, at the age of 80.

The heartbreaking death news was confirmed by the composer (The Legend of Vox Machina, Overwatch, World of Warcraft, Stargate SG-1, Stargate Atlantis, StarCraft, Diablo) and artist, Neal Acree. He shared a statement on Twitter, writing, “Devastated to hear of pianist Mike Lang’s passing. One of if not the most recorded musicians in history, Mike’s talent was only exceeded by his warmth and kindness.”

His statement added, ” Our paths crossed at every stage of my career and in so many different ways. A huge loss to the music world.”

Writer Chris Hadley reacted to the sad news, saying, “RIP to the great pianist Mike Lang, Sending his family, friends, and collaborators all my love and condolences. He was an incredible artist whose style and skill enhanced many of the greatest pop songs and film scores ever recorded (one of them being John Barry’s BODY HEAT).”

Real name Michael Anthony Lang, he starred in over 2000 film scores. Lang received a bachelor of music at the University of Michigan in 1963 and soon started to study under Leonard Stein, George Tremblay, Pearl Kaufman, as well as Lalo Schifrin.
