France’s Mylène Demongeot’s Cancer Leads to Her Death at 87

It is with the deepest sorrow to announce a French film, television, and theatre actress and author passed away on December 1, 2022, at the age of 87. It seems that Mylène Demongeot’s cancer is blamed for her death. May she rest in peace.

Her fruitful career lasted for almost 70 years and she was well-known for her role as Milady de Winter in the 1961 version of “The Three Musketeers“. Also, before that in 1958, she starred in “Bonjour Tristesse” alongside David Niven.

Demongeot was famous in France for her comedy movies. The best-known ones were two trilogies that appeared half a century apart the “Fantomas” films in the 1960s and “The camping” franchise in recent years.

She was nominated for different prizes when she appeared in more serious movies such as her nomination for a BAFTA for best newcomer for her part in 1957’s “The Crucible“, adapted by Jean-Paul Sartre from the famous play by Arthur Miller.

In the early years of her career, she tended to compare to her contemporary Brigitte Bardot in her early years and was a passionate advocate of environmental and animal charities.

She became a columnist member of the radio show Les Grosses Têtes by Philippe Bouvard on RTL between September 2013 and June 2014. Also, she was a theatre actress, and some of her theaters are:

Demongeot was born on September 29, 1935, in Nice, France. She has a half-brother, Leonid Ivantov, born in Kharbin (China) on December 17, 1925, from the first marriage of her mother.
