The acclaimed author who came to fame for penning the book The Horse Whisperer, Nicholas Evans’ cause of death was revealed soon after sources announced he passed away on Tuesday, August 9, 2022, at the age of 72.

The heartbreaking news of his sudden death was confirmed in a statement from his literary agency reporting that the novelist, screenwriter, and journalist took his last breath on Tuesday.

A statement announced, “United Agents are very sad to announce the sudden death of the celebrated best-selling author Nicholas Evans who died suddenly on Tuesday, aged 72.”

He released The Horse Whisperer in 1995 which was Evans’ debut novel and follows a complicated and talented trainer who is employed to help an injured teenager and her horse back to healthiness after a serious injury. The book sold over 15 million copies and turned into the year’s 10th best-selling novel in the US.

The story was adjusted for the cinema in 1998 by Hollywood star Robert Redford, who played the main character, with Scarlett Johansson starring as young rider Grace MacLean in her breakout role. Kristin Scott Thomas appeared as her mom, Annie, while Sam Neill played her father, Robert.

A Heart Attack Became Nicholas Evans’s Cause of Death

According to official sources, Nicholas Evans’ cause of death was related to his recent health problem; he reportedly lost his life following a heart attack.

Nicholas Evans was born in 1950 in Worcestershire and educated at Bromsgrove School before studying law at Oxford. During the 1970s he served as a journalist on the Evening Chronicle in Newcastle upon Tyne before entering into broadcasting media.

The beloved author specialized in United States politics and foreign affairs and spent time reporting the war in Beirut By the 1980s he was at London Weekend TV, creating films on Sir Laurence Olivier, Francis Bacon, and David Hockney for The South Bank Show.

Following growing his aptitudes as a screenwriter with projects appearing Dame Peggy Ashcroft, Sir Ian Holm, and more, he liked off work on his first novel, The Horse Whisperer. His other pieces are:

  • The Brave (2010)

Evans performed as a screenwriter and TV documentary producer before starting work on his well-known novel.
