Wrestler Paul Orndorff’s Cause of Death Relates to Illness

Unfortunately, WWE Hall Of Famer ‘Mr. Wonderful’ has sadly passed away at the age of 71. Paul Orndorff’s cause of death relates to a long-time illness. Orndorff was in a very sad situation that had left him in a bad state.

His son Travis Orndorff posted: “It is with great sadness that I announce the passing of my father, Paul Parlette Orndorff Jr. He is better known as “Mr. #1derful” Paul Orndorff. Most of you will remember him for his physique. Many will remember his intensity. But if I could only get you to understand and see his heart. He will always be Pop, Paw Paw, and Daddy at home. And as much as many of you hated him as a wrestler, he absolutely loved you for it. He was an amazing father that showed me more love than I ever deserved. I love you Daddy.”

His son had recently posted a video and some photos of Paul Orndorff about his health condition. Mr. Wonderful was not in proper health condition, and he didn’t appear to be himself.

Wrestler Paul Orndorff’s Illness; Late Stages of Dementia

Travis released the original video footage and informed Hannibal of his father’s condition. Paul Orndorff was suffering from late stages of dementia.

Paul Orndorff was diagnosed with cancer in 2011. He overcame cancer at that time.

He was one in a class-action lawsuit against WWE that alleged that wrestlers suffered “long-term neurological injuries” from the time in the fellowship, which was dismissed in 2018.

Paul Orndorff was starred in one of the greatest steel cage matches in the history of WWE when Paul confronted Hollywood Hogan for the WWE Championship on Saturday Night’s Main Event.

He literally retired due to a neck injury in 2000, suffered at the Fall Brawl event, but he managed to wrestle the last match, one in 2017 at the age of 67. He was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame as part of the Class of 2005 and appeared on WWE television a few times in 2014.

Hulk Hogan wrote on Twitter: “Just got slammed with the Paul Orndorff news,RIP my brother,love you and thank you for always making me fight for everything in our matches,heaven just got even more Wonderful,love U4LifeHH.”

One fan tweeted: “Damn man. So sad to hear the news that Mr “wonderful” PaulOrndoff has passed. I’ve been following his son travis’s Instagram for a while seeing different updates on Paul and unfortunately looking at some pictures I had a sad feeling he wasn’t going to last long RIP mr wonderful.”

Another wrote: “I remember the Main Event of the first ever WrestleMania, which took place at Madison Square Garden in New York City. It was a Tag Team Match with Hulk Hogan & Mr. T as his partner and both of their opponents are gone now. RIP ‘Mr. Wonderful’ Paul Orndoff.”
