Prophet TB Joshua’s cause of death has not been confirmed after the frontline televangelist passed away in Lagos on Saturday evening (June 5, 2021) at the age of 57 after concluding a program at his church in Ikotun.
As soon as the beloved preacher’s death was disclosed to Peoples Gazette by family sources, all started asking what happened to TB Joshua, a prophet who attracted many Christians from across the world by using his platform.
The Gazette found out from family sources who asked to be anonymous as an official statement was still being prepared.
Temitope Balogun Joshua was the founder of The Synagogue, Church Of All Nations (SCOAN) reigned for several decades as a fiery preacher on television.
As he was kindly informed of his cast religious estate in the Ikotun/Egbe area of Lagos, Joshua’s platform, Emmanuel TV, one of Nigeria’s greatest Christian broadcast stations, is available worldwide through digital and terrestrial switches.

Although prophet TB Joshua’s cause of death was not immediately disclosed, sources on behalf of the family claimed that his remains had been deposited at the morgue and an autopsy would clarify the exact cause of death forthwith.
After a section of his church headquarters in Lagos collapsed and led to dozens’ death and many more injured, in 2014, his church was placed in the center of a multi-national investigation.
An investigation into the collapsed building kicked off but up until his passing, he was yet to be tried at the end of the investigations even though he did not accept charges of negligence and denied a trial over the case.

T.B. Joshua’s close friend Femi Fani-Kayode opened up about his mistake about saying the prophet’s death is fake news, writing, “The passing of my brother TB Joshua saddens me deeply. At 3.00 am this morning I was told by one of his daughters that this was fake news & I tweeted as much. Sadly I was misled. 5 minutes ago the same person called me & confirmed the story.”

Is TB Joshua Still Alive?
On the other hand, some believe this is just a rumor, and TB Joshua is still alive. As no official statement has been issued yet and there is no information about what happened to TB Joshua, we can’t confirm these rumors; we all have to wait for his family statement.

TB Joshua had a massive following in South Africa, with several branches across the country and his followers are so loyal; They had even come to Nigeria to attend his church services.
One of his famous followers is EFF leader Julius Malema, who visited the Prophet in Lagos in 2013 soon after founding the party. Malema claimed he asked for blessings and counsel from him.
Groups of participants from South Africa visited TB’s church in Lagos in 2014. The trip had a tragic end; 116 people, including 84 South Africans, lost their lives after a six-story guesthouse related to the televangelist collapsed.

The statement read, “On Saturday 5th June 2021, Prophet TB Joshua spoke during the Emmanuel TV Partners Meeting: “Time for everything – time to come here for prayer and time to return home after the service”. God has taken His servant Prophet TB Joshua home – as it should be by divine will. His last moments on earth were spent in the service of God. This is what he was born for, lived for, and died for.”
The Church then came to announce that the unforgettable figure is leaving a “legacy of service and sacrifice to God’s Kingdom that is living for generations yet unborn.”
SCOAN released that the prophet’s last words before his death were “Watch and pray.”

But why YouTube closed his channel? A complaint from a rights body after reviewing at least seven videos showing Joshua praying to”cure” gay people.

Family Deciding about TB Joshua’s Burial Date and Place Soon
The heartbroken family members on Tuesday (June 8, 2021) met in Lagos State to clarify their plans for prophet TB Joshua’s burial three days after the world lost the founder of the Synagogue Church of All Nations.
However, an uncle of the late pastor, Alhaji Salisu Musa, announced that the burial date and place had not been decided by the family, saying, “We (family members) have just arrived in Lagos; we are to hold a meeting to decide on the burial arrangement. As soon as we meet and decide, we shall let you know.“
Good to remind, the monarch of Joshua’s hometown, Arigidi Akoko in Akoko North Local Government Area of Ondo State, Oba Yisa Olanipekun, had requested that the late prophet be buried in Arigidi Akoko.
Also, the monarch of Ibaram Akoko, Oba Olusegun Atibioke, has appealed to the Ondo State Government to consider immortalizing TB Joshua by naming an institution in the state after him, then came to urge the family to bury the late pastor in his hometown.
Following the tragedy, the Senate on Tuesday observed a minute silence in honor of Joshua along with The Senate President announcing, “Let me condole the family of TB Joshua, and also say that our country and Nigerian leaders across all levels need prayers. We need the intervention of God while we continue to do our work and perform our functions and duties.”
