World Mourns Allo ‘Allo! Star Robin Parkinson’s Peaceful Death

Born on October 25, 1929, in Coventry, Warwickshire, the beloved English actor, Christopher Robin Parkinson gained fame mainly for his comedy roles.
After the death of the first portrayer Derek Royle, he appeared as the second actor to portray Monsieur Ernest Leclerc in 22 episodes of ‘Allo ‘Allo! which is considered to be one of his popular projects.
He was known to be a familiar face of comedy in the 1970s and 1980s, besides being recognized as the narrator of ‘Button Moon’.
One of Mr. Parkinson’s daughters, Sarah Parkinson (1962–2003), was an English producer and writer of radio and television programs who was married to comedian Paul Merton. She sadly passed away at 41 due to breast cancer.

Starting his career at the Belgrade Theatre in Coventry, he was able to make his first film appearance as the jeweler’s assistant in Billy Liar (1963).

Robin Parkinson’s Death at 92, His Family Confirmed
Robin Parkinson’s death was announced as his family’s statement came out, reading that the beloved actor Robin Parkinson who is known for ‘Allo ‘Allo and as the voice of Button Moon, passed away peacefully at the age of 92 with his wife and daughters by his side.
Evening Standard announced the tragic news: “Robin Parkinson, known for his role in ‘Allo ‘Allo!, has died aged 92.”


A fan shared: “Sad news. We are sorry to learn that Robin Parkinson, a stalwart of Croft-coms has died aged 92. Perhaps best remembered as Leclerc in ‘Allo ‘Allo (1991/92) he also starred in Dad’s Army, Hot Mum, and Hi-de-Hi! among his many credits. RIP.”
David Brunt wrote: “Sad to hear of the death of comedy actor Robin Parkinson. Appeared in everything: the 2nd Leclerc in Allo Allo, Dad’s Army, Rising Damp, Terry and June, The Young Ones, Kenny Everett, Dick Emery, On The Buses, The Liver Birds, and many others on his CV. The perfect ‘little man’.”
