Tragedy of Aquaman’s Illustrator Robson Rocha’s Cause of Death
The tragedy behind DC Comics artist Robson Rocha’s cause of death has been revealed after Aquaman’s illustrator passed away Sunday afternoon (July 11, 2021) at a young age. May he rest in paradise.
His fellow comic book artist, Fabi Marques, confirmed the heartbreaking news of Rocha’s passing in a post to Twitter, writing, “I’m really sorry to inform that we lost Robson,” she wrote. “One of the greatest artists of our generation. Rest in power.”
Artist Yıldıray Çınar was one of those who first relayed the news, saying, “So sorry to learn that Robson Rocha left us today,” Çınar wrote. “RIP Robson. So young and early… My condolences to his family, his loved ones and all his fans.”
He was born in Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais, Brazil, and kicked off his career in the comics world in 2010. For DC respectively, he did his best on well-known projects such as New 52 titles like:
- Birds of Prey
- Earth 2: World’s End.
Rocha inked an expensive contract with DC in 2016. “I’ve been a fan of comic books since I was a child,” he stated at that time. “To have the opportunity to work with the DC characters I admire and love so much is a dream come true. These heroes have helped me believe in a better and much more fantastic world. I hope that my contributions to these characters will help to inspire others.”
Illness Becomes Robson Rocha’s Cause of Death
News of the Aquaman artist’s death news comes about two weeks after Marques posted a post opening up that Rocha had been hospitalized due to COVID-19 and was in urgent need of blood donations.
However, Robson Rocha’s exact cause of death has not been clarified by reliable sources at this time, and US day News is trying to find more information regarding his death reason.
Rocha became a famous star through DC’s Rebirth era because of his great work on Green Lanterns, but he is probably best known for his art on Aquaman. His other DC credits are:
- Justice League
- Demon Knights
- World’s Finest
- Teen Titans.
He reportedly was hospitalized at the Eduardo de Menezes Hospital; as struggling with COVID-19, his friends were organizing donations both of blood and money to support him.
Someone reacted to the passing news. Saying, “Our beloved friend and artist Robson Rocha was supposed to be alive and well, I can’t even fathom the pain of a mother telling her daughter that he’s not coming back. Please take care of yourselves, get a vaccine and wear masks, this is no joke. Absolutely gut wrenching.”
Another wrote, “RobsonRocha had the incredible talent of using his art to express ideas that were trapped between script & words. We both loved horror & snuck that in our projects. My heart is broken & still refuses to believe he is gone now. Comics has lost a great artist & even better friend.”
A user also tweeted, “I don’t really know what to say except that Robson Rocha was a brilliant artist, a kind man, and a loving husband and father. He was so incredibly loved and will be deeply missed.”
