What’s Knockers Up’s Singer Rusty Warren’s Cause of Death?

Sad to announce that the comedian and singer Rusty Warren’s cause of death at 90 is not revealed yet. She was specializing in sex-related themes and such songs as “Bounce Your Boobies.”

Rusty Warren was born in New York City in 1930, and six months later, she was adopted by Helen and Herbert Goldman, a couple from Milton, Massachusetts, who named her Ilene Goldman.

She was graduated from Milton High School in 1948, studied piano at the New England Conservatory of Music, and was graduated around 1954.

Rusty Warren's cause of death is not revealed yet

Warren spent her first free summer entertaining in small lounges and later taught there shortly after getting her degree. Her musical instructor at the time was Arthur Fiedler, the conductor of the Boston Pops.

According to Wikipedia, she recorded for Jubilee Records, then GNP Crescendo Records, which reissued some of her earlier Jubilee albums.

After moving from Paradise Valley, Arizona, she lived in Hawaii with her life partner, Elizabeth Rizzo, from 1984 to 2019.


Rusty Warren’s Cause of Death is Unknown

Warren started her career in the early 1950s in Phoenix, Arizona. Then she moved her act to Las Vegas, Nevada.

Her comedy routines presented the subject of sex from a female perspective with the song “Knockers Up” from the 1960 album of the same name, which is her most famous contribution to the sexual revolution.

She produced a DVD that chronicles her life in show business. The DVD, “Rusty Warren: Knockers Up! GNP Crescendo” released the Lady Behind the Laughs in 2008.

Comedian Rusty Warren passed away at the age of 90

Rizzo wrote her biography, “Rusty Warren – The Knockers Up Gal.” It contains excerpts from magazine articles in chronological order to tell the story of Rusty Warren’s career and those who worked with her.

Rusty Warren and her followers saved every news article, photograph, slides, reels of video footage from her Las Vegas shows, magazines, promotional stuff, letters, performance records, handwritten notes, literally everything about her career as a comedian starting from 1955 through the late 1980s.

The Rusty Warren collection is in the Library of Congress archives and on show in the National Comedy Museum.

    I was introduced to. The comedy of Rusty Warren many, many years ago, by Mom.
    Her comedy was absolutely wonderful. Was shocked to see that she just die.d
    Have an autographed DVD of hers, that I will now treasure greatly!!

      Thank you for your kind words. Rusty continued to keep us laughing while here in California. Rusty passed away Tuesday, May 25, 2021, about 1p.m. p.s.t. Rusty died peacefully and was in NO PAIN. SHE had caregivers n friends with her when she passed away. She was living happily with her long term friend, Barbara Burns. I’ve been with her since she moved to California in April, 2020..

    Rusty was well cared for and was surrounded by friends and loved ones when she took her last breath on March 25th, 2021. Rusty was in no pain when she passed. Rusty continued to entertain those around her 24/7, at her home she shared with Barbara Burns, her long time friend. Rusty left us at 91 years of age. She is at peace with our Father in heaven.

    I’m so heartbroken. Rusty was a friend of mine. In fact we had the same manager when I was in the business. I got an email from her 3 years ago, just keeping in touch. I have no words. She was a beautiful person and I’ll miss her terribly.
