Congress President Sonia Gandhi’s Mother’s Death Confirmed


Official sources, unfortunately, have confirmed Congress chief Sonia Gandhi’s mother’s death at her home in Italy on Saturday, August 27, 2022, at the age of about 90.

The Congress president, Sonia Gandh, had left more than a week ago to see her ailing mom, who was in her 90s. Now, it was reported that the funeral was held on Tuesday, August 30.

AICC general secretary Jairam Ramesh shared the heartbreaking news in a statement posted on Twitter, saying, “Smt. Sonia Gandhi’s mother, Mrs. Paola Maino passed away at her home in Italy on Saturday the 27th of August 2022. The funeral took place yesterday.”

Sonia Gandhi, her son Rahul Gandhi and daughter Priyanka Gandhi Vadra are abroad and visited her hometown right now.
