Rapper Kid Rock’s Gay Slur in Response to Homophobia Backlash

Share

Amid fierce backlash over Kid Rock’s gay slur on June 5, the rapper has finally decided to address critics by repeating the same word that got him trouble in the first place.

The 50-year-old rapper publicly addressed the video of him using the homophobic slur at a recent Tennessee performance by tweeting, “If Kid Rock using the word f***** offends you, good chance you are one.”

“Either way, I know he has a lot of love for his gay friends, and I will have a talk with him. Have a nice day,” he tweeted in the third person on Wednesday, and it led to a speedy reaction of the fans.

Rock’s tweet comes days after he was filmed using homophobic epithets at fans for recording him during his show at FishLipz Bar & Grill in Smithville, Tennessee.

“F— your iPhone, yeah,” he said and then turned to the crowd at large and shouted. “You can post this. You can post this d— right now. F—ing f—s with your phones out.”

Back in 2019, the musician (real name Bob Ritchie) was removed from the stage during a show at the Honky Tonk bar for berating Joy Behar and TV star Oprah Winfrey.

The musician has been under fire since he was caught on camera using a homophobic slur while performing at a Tennessee bar over the weekend. He again repeated the word in a Tweet and attacked his critics.

Last year, Rock’s Nashville bar Big Honky Tonk & Steakhouse was hit with a permit suspension for violating Covid-19 protocols. His bar also welcomed singer Morgan Wallen for his first public appearance since being captured using a racial slur in February.

In 2017, the Michigan native announced a U.S. Senate run that he later confirmed was just a publicity stunt. The star also was a loyal supporter of President Trump, who hosted the “God Only Knows Why “at the White House in 2017.

Reactions to Kid Rock’s Slur

Shortly after Kid Rock repeated the gay slur in his tweet, many Twitter users were upset by Rock’s post and reacted to his offensive tweet.

“When I heard Kid Rock made a homophobic comment, I got so mad I drove 12 hours to my parents’ house, went in the attic, found Kid Rock’s latest cassette, and threw it out,” one critic tweeted.

“I am so confused right now. You used your real name to justify your stage persona’s bad behavior?” one user wrote on Twitter. “And trotting out the old Clanger, ‘some of his best friends are gay.’ Yes, I had to Google’ Bob Ritchie.’ No, I’m not gay, just open-minded.”

“Funny how bigots always claim to have friends of whatever particular slur they happen to be slinging,” another critic wrote.

Why does US day news feel the need to state “The star was also a loyal supporter of Trump”… As if that has anything to do with the comments made. Funny how the liberal types like to try and group anyone they disagree with as crazy conservatives and Donald Trump loyalists. Since NAMBLA is a far left pervert group, I guess we should all link liberals to this group who likes to bang little boys……

Furthermore, he was removed from the stage for berating liberal Joy Behar and Oprah Winfrey, but if he was saying disgusting things about President Trump and His son Barron, well that would be okay, Right?
