Halsey and Alev Aydin Break Up 2 Years after Welcoming Son


Halsey split Alev Aydin after welcoming a child in July 2021 and first being linked together in January 2019. The singer also filed for full physical custody of their son.

The legal team for Halsey, who was born in Edison, New Jersey, United States, and uses they/them pronouns filed the paperwork in Los Angeles on April 5, 2023.

The petition asks that the artist and their former partner share joint legal custody of their child, Ender, but that Halsey receives physical custody of the toddler.

The document also asks for Alev Aydin to receive “reasonable” visitation privileges. “Their break up was amicable and they plan on co-parenting,” a source close to the couple said.

Halsey is going on tour this summer, and they filed for physical custody so that the child, who turns 2 in July, could join them on the road, the source added. The singer and Aydin welcomed Ender in July 2021.

When the ‘Colors‘ singer announced their pregnancy and tagged Alev Aydin in the post on January 27, 2021, it was the first time the two publicly revealed their relationship.

“Heart so full, I love you, sweetness,” Aydin, who is a film producer, commented at the time.

At the time of Ender’s birth, the 28-year-old singer said they were feeling “Gratitude.”

Three-time Grammy nominee Halsey split Alev Aydin after sparking up a romance in 2020 and is seeking full custody of their son, Ender. They have gone their separate ways for good.

The ‘Sorry‘ singer has been open about their struggles with endometriosis and previous miscarriages in the past. Their song, “More,” from the 2020 album “Maniac” details some of that experience.

“I’ve been really open about my struggles with reproductive health, about wanting to freeze my eggs and having endometriosis and things like that,” the singer wrote in the liner notes of the album.

“For a long time, I didn’t think that having a family was something I was going to be able to do, and it’s very, very important to me.”

Halsey said that “one day” their doctor said it might be possible and they were “so moved.”

The continued: “It felt like this ascension into a different kind of womanhood. All of a sudden, everything is different.”

“I’m not going to go tour myself to death because I have nothing else to do and I’m overcompensating for not being able to have this other thing that I really want. Now, I have a choice. I’ve never had a choice before,” Halsey added.

Halsey is openly bisexual. Prior to her career, the star dated a woman. In March 2021, Halsey announced that she uses both “she/her” and “they/them” pronouns.

From 2015 to 2016, Halsey dated producer Lido, who helped produce Badlands and inspired Hopeless Fountain Kingdom. In 2017, The artist began dating rapper G-Eazy.

The pair first met at a party that year and although they pursued different themes, they found common ground for their collaboration.

They broke up in July 2018, though their relationship was on-and-off-again until ending September 2018. Halsey later confirmed that her song “Without Me” is partially about this relationship.

Between November 2018 and September 2019, The American singer was in a relationship with English musician Yungblud.
