Lindsey Buckingham’s Divorce from Wife After 21-Year of Living
Lindsey Buckingham’s divorce from his wife after 21-Year of living surprised fans. They are going their own way after more than two decades.
It was reported that Kristen Messner, who married Lindsey Buckingham in 2000, has filed divorce documents in Los Angeles County on June 8.
The famed Fleetwood Mac guitarist and his wife met in the late ’90s after she photographed him for the cover of his solo album. They got married in 2000, but the reason for the divorce isn’t publicly known, and it is unknown if the two have discussed the terms of the split.
The ex-couple has three children. Their third child is 17 years old, so they might not have any custody issues, depending on when things get sorted out.
Unexpected Lindsey Buckingham’s Divorce from his Wife
Lindsey Buckingham’s divorce news came the same day Lindsey announced both a new tour and his first solo album in 10 years.
He tweeted: “My new self-titled album is one I’ve been intending to get out for a couple of years now, but on more than one occasion, unforeseen circumstances necessitated a postponement of plans. Now that we’re back in gear, I’m thrilled to finally be sharing new music with my listeners!”
Lindsey, 71, previously revealed that he waited “a long time” for Kristen after dating many “crazy” girlfriends. He explained, “I had a lot of crazy girlfriends, and a lot of that was just an outgrowth of the lifestyle we were all leading.”
He famously dated one-time bandmate Stevie Nicks and the duo wrote some of their most famous songs following their split, including Go Your Own Way. Lindsey first left the band in 1987, in acrimonious circumstances.
“I did see a lot of friends who were parents and spouses back in previous decades who weren’t really there and kind of screwed up their kids, and were not there for their family situations.”
He added that he waited and was lucky enough to meet someone relatively late. “I got all that other garbage out of the way.”
