‘GoT’ Actor Darren Kent’s Death Following Health Battle

While Game of Thrones fans are searching for Actor, writer, and director Darren Kent’s cause of death at the age of 36, his agency remains silent about the cause.

Kent has worked alongside Hollywood stars such as Dominic West, Kiefer Sutherland, and Sean Bean.

He won the Best Actor Award at the Van D’or Awards for his memorable short film role in Sunnyboy and has also worked as a director.

Kent also battled osteoporosis, arthritis, and an extremely rare skin disorder in his early career.

Darren was a patron of Equal People Performing Arts, which supports disabled, non-disabled and disadvantaged persons to enjoy the power of performing arts.

His friends and fans have flooded social media with heartfelt tributes to the star and praised his talent.

Darren’s agency Carey Dodd Associates announced Darren Kent’s death on Twitter, writing: “It is with deep sadness we have to tell you that our dear friend and client Darren Kent passed away peacefully on Friday.

“His parents and best friend by his side. Our thoughts and love are with his family in this difficult time. RIP my friend”.

Has Darren Kent’s Cause of Death been Revealed Yet?

Although Darren Kent’s cause of death has not been officially announced, sources reported that he died following a long health battle, surrounded by his family and best friend.

Born in Essex, with a strong London accent, Darren trained at Italia Conti drama school, graduating in 2007.

His first movie role was in the 2008 horror Mirrors, starring Kiefer Sutherland. Away from acting, he directed an episode of the 2021 BBC monologue series The Break, showcasing up-and-coming UK writers, and a short movie You Know Me.

Kent’s last performance was in the short film Birds Sorrow.

TV and theatre star Lee Mead – who appeared in Darren’s film Mein Freund – also voiced his sadness at the news.

Screenwriter Ben Trebilcook penned: “Love and thoughts to the friends and family of our talented, caring soul of a friend, Darren Kent, who sadly passed away on Friday.”

Trebilcook continued: “Darren, an Essex writer, actor and director, directed our award winning short You Know Me. A true character who was Always creating and forever upbeat and encouraging, Darren will be sorely missed.”

Mead wrote: “Darren was an amazing human being and so special. Always giving of his time to people and always so positive. A fine actor too and he achieved so much as well. Such heartbreaking news”.

Fellow director Jane Gull wrote: “What a privilege it was to be your friend and to work together on so many projects over the years. Life won’t be the same without you I will miss you so much. RIP darling Darren Kent xxxx”.

Gogglebox star Sandi Bogle, who appeared with Darren in a 2019 short film, wrote: “My heart is broken my long time amazing, wonderful great friend Darren Kent has passed away my condolences to his family May he rest in peace he is one of Gods (sic) beautiful Angels he will be truly missed.”

Makers of the film Love Without Walls wrote: “With heavy hearts, we share the heartbreaking news of our dear friend @darrenpaulkent’s passing.

“An acting luminary whose creativity inspired and left an indelible mark on and off-screen. Our thoughts are with his family, friends and colleagues at this devastating time.”
