Two dead people were found fatally stabbed in Altadena and were reported around 2:45 p.m. along with the 3000 blocks of North Marengo Avenue, officials said.

First responders said they could find two victims, both in their 60, and pronounced them dead at the scene.

Lt. Barry Hall of the LA Sheriff’s Department said, “When they arrived, they found an elderly male deceased in driveway. They checked inside of house and found an elderly female dead.”

Hall added, “The lady was still talking on the Zoom when the male was dragged out of the house. That alerted her and the suspect went back inside and attacked her.”

Both the victims were killed of fatal stab wounds. The man and woman were not a couple, and their relationship is not yet clear.

Authorities said the woman was on a Zoom call with someone when the attack started. Then a virtual witness called 911. As officials were investigating the area, they found a potential suspect.

Hall also said, “Since we arrived here on location, a person of interest returned to the scene in the victim’s vehicle and he has since been detained.”

Neighbors told the officials at the scene that the alleged suspect is related to the pair. No other more details about the incident have been released.
