East Texas Church Shooting’s Main Motive: 1 Dead, 1 Injured
According to the Associated Press’s report, the east Texas church shooting has left one person dead and several injured, Sunday morning. Multiple people were wounded in Starrville Methodist Church’s shooting in Winona, Texas, as Gov. Greg Abbott declared in an announcement.
“Our hearts are with the victims and the families of those killed or injured in this terrible tragedy,” Gov. Abbott stated Sunday.
Abbott said that he is thankful for the law enforcement officers who arrested the suspect, and he asked Texans to join Cecilia and him in praying for those affected by this terrible shooting.
“The State of Texas is working closely with first responders and local officials to ensure that justice is served and that the Starrville community has the resources it needs during this time,” he replied.
Just three days ago, retired Chicago Bears All-Pro cornerback, Michael Calvin Richardson was accused of murder in the fatal shooting.
Is the East Texas Church Shooting’s Suspect Arrested?
The shooting occurred around 9:20 a.m. in the northeast of Tyler and east of Dallas.
Sgt. Larry Christian, Smith County Sheriff‘s Office representative, approved to sources that a suspect has been carried into custody.
According to the AP’s report, as officers arrived on the scene, two people were found shot. One of the sufferers was declared deceased, and the other victim’s situation is currently undiscovered.
The suspect escaped the scene after the shooting but has since been captured, officials stated.
No church services were working on at the moment of the shooting.
