At Least 1 Killed Many Injured during Shooting in Kearns Utah


A shooting in Kearns Utah frightened residents in the area. Many people were shot in Kearns Tuesday, March 9, leaving at least one dead and several injured, Unified police confirmed.

The shooting happened just after 4 p.m. near a church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints parking lot at 5300 West and 5400 South.

According to the Unified Police Department officials, from those people who were injured in the shooting, one person is in critical condition, but one is in serious condition.

Witnesses noted that a red Saturn with 4 passengers was seen leaving the parking lot after the shooting as a possible suspect vehicle.

Aerial footage showed a black sedan with its lights flashing near a dumpster in the church parking lot that appears to be part of the investigation.

Shooting in Kearns Utah Leaves at Least 1 Dead

Police had the parking lot completely roped off Tuesday. The cause of the shooting has not been released yet.

The department said in a tweet that the shooting happened at the Cobblestone Landing townhomes, located off Walt Loop Road.

It was reported that an officer killed a gunman witnessing him shoot a woman. Officers found a man shoot a woman in the parking lot immediately when they arrived. So one of the officers fired at the male suspect and killed him. It is said that no officers were injured.

Officers said the woman lived in the Cobblestone neighborhood. The woman’s daughter witnessed part of the incident and reported to the police that what happened.
