Opry Mills Mall Shooting During Robbery Leaves a Woman Dead

Metro police are investigating an Opry Mills Mall shooting in the parking lot that started during an apparent robbery attempt and left fatalities early Friday evening!

Shortly after the incident, a woman was shot when the gunman tried to rob her and transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center with critical injuries that may cause her death.
Police announced the woman was leaving Opry Mills in the parking lot on the western side of the mall at approximately 5:40 p.m. when she was approached.
Police and Nashville Fire Department crews received a report of the fatal shootout at 433 Opry Mills Drive and found the woman shot, according to police spokeswoman Kris Mumford.
Police Searching for Opry Mills Mall Shooting Suspect
Officials believe the victim was coming back to her car from the mall when she was approached, robbed, and shot. She reportedly parked in a spot but was followed by the robber in a white sedan who pulled in behind her, blocking her into the spot.
The male suspect of Opry Mills Mall shooting shot the woman and fled the scene, police added.
No complete description of the suspect was available and no other injuries were reported at this time, the only additional information we have is saying according to multiple reports, the mall is being evacuated as a precaution.
Metro police are working with mall security to review security footage and still looking for the suspect. Also, they said the car is white with a sunroof and a black or missing gas cap.
