Shooting in Hartford Nightclub: 1 Dead, 4 Wounded
Shooting in Hartford befell where multiple people were shot at a Connecticut nightclub, leaving one person dead, police stated early Sunday.
Five people were shot, and one dead, at a nightclub in the south end of Hartford early Sunday morning, according to Police.
Introductory information showed four others were wounded, Hartford police Lt. Paul Cicero reported.
Officers responded to a call to the Majestic Lounge on Franklin Avenue around 1:30 a.m.
Of the five shots, two were female, three were male. One of the males died. They were all taken to Hartford Hospital.
In a tweet posted around 3 a.m., police reported the location as a nightclub in Hartford’s South End. Cicero affirmed the shooting in Hartford took place inside the Majestic Lounge on Franklin Avenue. A phone call to the number listed on Majestic Lounge’s Facebook pages was not answered.
Police have not identified suspects at this time. They are reviewing inspection footage to recognize a suspect.
One of the victims was being transported to the hospital by their brother when they crashed. But they did make it to the hospital.
Franklin Street has since reopened. Police announced the investigation will be carried out to the inside of the Majestic Lounge.
Prefatory news from Police shows there was a disturbance inside the nightclub between two groups of people. It was not a random shooting and it’s too early to conclude if it’s gang-related, according to Lt. Paul Cicero.

Hartford police Lt. Paul Cicero announced the shooting took place at 1:30 a.m. inside the Majestic Lounge on Franklin Avenue. Officers placed outside the club due to former problems rushed in. However, were faced with a large number of people running toward the exits.
“Everybody started pushing their way out to get away from the gunfire,” Cicero stated. “It was kind of pandemonium.”
Officers, however, were able to provide prompt medical care to the victims, he stated. Officials said that introductory information showed that two men and two women were wounded.
Police recognized the victim who was shot dead as a 28-year-old male. Two of the wounded people were still in surgery. The others status listed as “stable”, police said.
The names of the victims and who were injured in the incident weren’t instantly published.

Officials reported there were two active scenes related to the shooting in Hartford: one at the nightclub; and another involving a car crash on Maple Avenue near Hartford Hospital, involving one of the victims.
Mayor Luke Bronin told Sunday that illegal handguns were involved in the shooting. He added there have been problems at the nightclub in the past, but nothing in recent weeks.
City officials will be assessing what steps they can take to prevent violence at the club in the future, Bronin declared.
“Hartford Police Officers who were at the club responded immediately, running in the direction of gunfire, and their heroic efforts may have prevented further loss of life,” Bronin announced in a statement.
Police tweeted; Streets surrounding the club remained closed during the research. Cicero announced a “long, complex investigation” was started, and that no suspects were in custody.
“We’re not going to have anything for quite a bit of time,” he narrated.
Past problems at the nightclub
Past problems at the nightclub prompted officers to post outside the nightclub.
Cicero stated having officers nearby was profitable because they were able to provide medical aid immediately.
Police are reviewing footage to see what led to the shooting in Hartford. The identity of the victim who was fatally shot has not been released.
Additional details, including information about the shooter, weren’t instantly obtainable.

Brown Street from Wethersfield Avenue to Winship Street is shut. Franklin Avenue between Standish Street and Wayland Street is also closed.
Franklin Avenue is closed to traffic between Wethersfield Avenue and Winship Street.
Just before 4:30 a.m., Cicero stated police were still in the early stages of investigating and there were “a lot of moving parts.”
