Madonna’s brother, Anthony Ciccone, passed away Friday, (February 24, 2023), her brother-in-law said on social media. Anthony Ciccone’s Cause of death remains unknown.
Ciccone’s brother-in-law Joe Henry announced the heartbreaking death in an Instagram post on Saturday. Henry said in the post that Anthony Ciccone led a complicated life and shared close ties with his family.
“As brother Dave Henry (who took this photograph) notes here, Anthony was a complex character; and god knows: we tangled in moments, as true brothers can.

“But I loved him, and understood him better than I was sometimes willing to let on,” Henry said. Joe Henry is married to the singer’s younger sister Melanie Ciccone.
Henry ended his touching tribute with a parting message for Ciccone as the family mourns his devastating loss. “But trouble fades; and family remains— with hands reached across the table. Farewell, then, brother Anthony,” he said.

Anthony Ciccone’s cause of death has not been revealed by his family at this time. His brother-in-law Joe Henry said that Anthony sadly passed away at the age of 66.
Anthony Ciccone was born May 3, 1956, in Rochester, United States, the oldest child of Madonna and Silvio Ciccone. His younger sister Madonna gained fame as a singer-songwriter and actress.
His father’s parents were Italian emigrants from Pacentro while her mom was of French-Canadian descent. His mother died of breast cancer on December 1, 1963.
