Rangers are Investigating Dead Woman at Possum Creek Metropark
The news regarding a dead woman at Possum Creek Metropark has been announced as MetroParks rangers and some officers are investigating the case.
Five MetroParks rangers have closed Possum Creek MetroPark as crews conduct an investigation after a female’s body was found at the park Monday morning.
“We had a couple of 911 calls,” Officer Lynne Zimmerman with MetroParks said, “It was clearly visible when you went into the park.” Rangers and some officers from the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office have been at the park since around 10 am investigating.
The dead woman was found on the side of the road near the horse trail by the park’s entrance. It is not clear how long her body was there before it was discovered. This woman is in her late 20s to early 30s, according to rangers; however, she has not been identified at this time.
No Cause of Death Regarding Dead Woman at Possum Creek Metropark
Zimmerman said she thinks it was staff members who called in after the dead body was found. MetroParks has not confirmed any specific details on how the female died. However, the coroner’s office has been called to assist in the investigation.
More dead bodies have been found this year, including Elyria Family. Elyria’s family was found dead in a family murder-suicide attempt; All five members were declared dead.
Three children of family members between the ages of 6 and 12 were killed Tuesday. Elyria police responded to a home on Willow Park Road in Elyria at 8.11 am on Wednesday morning for a wellness check on the residents.
“It is with great sadness that we share this tragic news,” Elyria Mayor Frank Whitfield said in a press release. “This has been a challenging year — to say the least. Never did we imagine having to share the news that we’ve lost one of Elyria’s families in this way.”
