Kamala Harris Drops Out, Trump Campaign Congratulates

Unexpected news this Tuesday, Kamala Harris drops out, Trump campaign congratulates Tulsi Gabbard. It was an abrupt departure for Harris who at a certain point during the 2020 presidential race was seen as a leading candidate in the Democratic party.

The news was announced on Tuesday morning by the Californian Democrat first to her staff who had supported and accompanied her throughout this rollercoaster journey, then later she sent an email to her supporters and released a video on Twitter.

In the video, Kamala Harris addressed herself to her supporters saying: ”To you my supporters, my dear supporters, it is with deep regret–but also with deep gratitude that I am suspending our campaign today.” She continued adding: ”But I want to be clear with you: I am still very much in this fight. And I will keep fighting every day for what this campaign has been about. Justice for the people. All the people.”

What were her reasons?

This turn of events was quite an unexpected one as Kamala Harris started off the campaign with high expectations but ending in an unexpected way. One reason might be that the senator had been lower ranked for a few months now, struggling to move her poll numbers up.

Another reason could also be the lack of financial support and pressure she and her team had to cope with. It also led to internal quarrels. All these factors played a role in the lack of stability of the campaign.

In her video, she expressed her truth: ”I’m not a billionaire. I can’t fund my own campaign. And as the campaign has gone on, it’s become harder and harder to raise the money we need to compete.” A strong statement she made in the video was when she said: ”My campaign for president simply doesn’t have the financial resources we need to continue.”

Nonetheless, Kamala Harris is very much grateful for all the help and support she received throughout this long campaign. She will travel to meet early-voting states to thank them personally and privately for their hard work and on-going dedication, those supporters and staff members that kept the campaign going.

The decision was made only a few days ago during the Thanksgiving holiday where she was forced to take a hard look at the situation and make the appropriate decision.
